Short answer: yes. A modern cold-climate heat pump (Lennox included) is rated to produce usable heat down to around -25°C or colder, which covers the vast majority of HRM winter nights. On the deepest cold snaps some homes benefit from a small electric or dual-fuel backup. We'll tell you honestly on the call whether yours is one of them. The whole point of the free 30-minute consultation is that you don't need to be an HVAC expert going in. Eric or one of our team will explain how it actually works in your specific home, not in a brochure.
Fair concern, and you're right to ask. Three things to look at: (1) We've been locally owned in Dartmouth for over a decade with 141+ five-star Google reviews. Depends on your home, but for most oil-heated HRM homes the answer is still yes. Efficiency Nova Scotia still runs heat pump rebates (we'll walk you through what you specifically qualify for on the call). Oil prices in Nova Scotia are still volatile and most homeowners save meaningfully on their annual energy bill after conversion. We also offer flexible financing so the upfront number isn't the barrier. Most of our heat pump customers go from first call to installed system within 3 to 6 weeks, depending on the job scope, permit timing, and whether your panel or ducting needs upgrades. Mini-split installs are usually 1 to 2 days on site. Full oil-to-heat-pump conversions with electrical and panel work typically take 3 to 5 days. We give you a real timeline in the written quote so you can plan around it.
